PlayStation 4 owners in the U.S. mainland (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) will be the first to get access to the PlayStation Now (PS Now) open beta service on July 31, 2014. The new service will allow users to rent or purchase from over 100 titles at launch, including games from SCE Worldwide Studios and other leading publishers. Rentals will start at $2.99, and most titles will be available to purchase from $2.99 to $19.99. Sony says a subscription-based option may be available for SCE games in the future. The cloud-based streaming game service was formerly announced at CES 2014, and offered closed beta access back in January. While only PS4 owners will have access in July, PlayStation 3 owners will apparently be granted access to the service in September, followed by PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV by the end of the year.
